Variations: This variation on design#1 takes a different direction as a function of the front to back exposed beams, and the low slope single pitch roof. The front wall is taller and gets transom windows. Both front and rear decks are under cover made possible due to the cantilever roof beams. The left end wall has some glass, and houses a nice built-in assembly with fireplace and tv. Also note the direct access into the house from the attached garage.

Beam options: Designs this series show exposed beams typically as structural glulams. In most instances the structure can be handled with engineered  repetitive member or single slope trusses eliminating the more costly glulams. If repetitive members are accomplishing the structure false drop beams can be selectively added.
